SandWITCH

BEHOLD, our SandWITCH, as we chose to call it!

AND, according to our satisfied customers, it is DELICIOUS!

Okay, what in the world am I talking about?

Last Wednesday, my friends, Nirosha and Shangaree opened a little stall in my uni, because it was Flea Market day, and we sold sandwiches. :)

Well, we wanted to earn some money. We were broke and we desperately needed money. At least we have something in our pockets to last us through the holiday.

So yeah, that was how it goes.

The list of sandwiches to choose from?
1. Sausage + Egg + Cheese
2. Chicken Ham + Egg + Cheese
3. Stewed Potatoes + Cheese
4. Sardines + Egg
5. Crabstick + Cheese + Egg

This is our only sign that people kept blocking. Ish... But it's okay... and I think I am not taking the story chronologically.

First things first, I fell asleep at 4.30AM after cooking the potatoes and packing them..it was so late I am just so tired and.... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

The next thing I know, I heard,
"Rachel, wake up, it is almost nine"

"WHAT????" was my immediate reply and my eyes flew open and I got up, jumped into the bathroom got ready, ran down to cook the crabstick that I left to thaw a few hours before my lapse into dreamland.

The problem is that we had to be there by 8AM to set up and all that stuff because the flea market opens at 9AM...and here we are, still at home, sound asleep.
After rushing to get ready, we called for a taxi to bring us into the uni because we had loads of stuff to carry.
Sigh, the lousy taxi man charged us RM10.

LIKE HELLO!!!

Nirosha tried to argue for RM5. I shut the man up but shoving him RM7.

We so do not have time to bargain for how much a taxi ride costs. It's take it or leave it at that time.

I ran to the hall and GUESS WHO I SAW!

Leong Min Zhi and SaYang!

I was pleasantly surprised.

They shook their heads once they saw us.

"Hey, you are HERE! For??" I asked and at the same time, exclaiming.

"Waiting for your SANDWICH!" Min Zhi replied.

Isn't that sweet?

They were waiting for us to open our stall and according to them, they have been waiting for us since 8.25AM and at the time, it was already 9.50AM, almost 10AM.
Customers waiting for our stall to open!

Wr went in to search for our stall and Min Zhi, which I presumed must be rolling his eyes led us to our stall.
WOW, customer found the stall of the sandwich seller-to-be's.

They also bought like SIX sandwiches from us. =D

The rest of the day went on with us wondering if we can cover the costs for our sandwiches because the money we spent just on making the sandwich was already more than 100 bucks!

But no worries, we got our sales.

In fact, we finished our butter and our four jumbo loaves of bread and Jym had to go and get another 3 loaves and a block of butter for us even though he had his assignments and presentations to settle.

THANK YOU JYM!!

Our neighbours also bought our sandwiches and said that they were delicious, especially the sardine and the potato.

It smelled good because as you can see from the first picture, we lay everything nicely and we shut it up and let it...what do you call it...bake???
Well, whatever, cook, in the sandwich maker.
But the smell is sure to tickle your tastebuds.

At 5PM, we finished selling every piece of bread and packed to go back home, happy, and hopefully, a few Ringgit richer.

AND WE DID!

The total amount collected was more than RM230 and after covering the costs, each of us, which is the three silly people above, got ourselves RM37 each!

YESSS....a little money to spend when I go for my holiday in Medan.

Farfetched... but... who cares!

I am just so happy we managed to make some money.

So, care for some SandWITCHes?
