Happy Diwali in Teluk Intan

What is with the picture?

I'll tell you, soon.

BUT FIRST (chronological stories are much more appreciated by public than non-chronological ones);

Like last year, we were invited to Shangaree's house for Deepavali and so like last year, we went!
I mean, seriously, do you think I can give up eating tons of muruku's and her mom's fantastic cooking?

Nope.

I am going there even if it takes two hours (or less) for me to get there!

Well, with Jym's driving, one should take off one third of the time of the estimated travelling time. You get what I mean.

In this case, it took us an hour to reach.
Oh the joy that befell upon us excited (more like greedy) fellows when we reached!

MURUKU'S!!!

We also had some cookies made by our very own Shivashangaree. As you can see, the pineapple tart above is made by her, after (according to her) calling Nirosha countless times for the recipe.

Ah, now is the time for me to explain about the first picture you saw in this post. If you have forgotten, you are permitted to scroll up but please, come back here after you have had a good look.

See the cookie in the jar?

It was some cornflakes cookie that she made which was... EWW!

She added too much Planta and the cookie part of the cookie (if you don't understand, just pretend that you do) looked plastic-ky, and by just looking at it, my next reaction was just to close the lid and put it back.

Aimi and Jym did try it... a little.
Just the cornflakes garnished with chocolate part.

But since I am a good friend, I am going to tell Shangaree, 'Good job, do better next time!'

HAHA.
After a few LONG minutes, lunch was served!

Best part of the day.

And my dear friend was serving us.

OH MY GOODNESS, THE YUMMY FOOD!

We had like prawns, fantastic mixed vegetables, three types of chicken (something like rendang, another with potatoes and another with curry), idly and others.

We ate till we were bloated.

Later, Suren, Shangaree's older brother put up fire crackers and pop-pops and all those sort of stuffs.

Seriously, we are so OneMalaysia.
I mean, our culture is so amalgamated and I think it is really cool. We have learnt to accept and adapt each others cultures to the extent of embracing it!

MEANWHILE...
The two love birds.

Enough said.

So there, our once every year adventures to Teluk Intan. The next trip there will be early next year for Shangaree's sister's engagement.

That's it for our Deepavali celebrations. I was so sad I wasn't able to wear my saree because I didn't have time to get my saree blouse done.
Sigh.

But anyways, HAPPY BELATED DEEPAVALI to all you people who celebrate it!
(My house in Kampar celebrates any and every festival, and next up will be my favourite time of the year... CHRISTMAS!!)
